Breaking Out of the Everyday Style Rut
Lately, I came across this idea of a point system for fashion—where each item in your outfit is assigned a point value based on how bold or statement-making it is. The goal is to hit around 7 points for a well-styled look. It’s such a simple way to think differently about getting dressed.
It made me realize how easy it is to get stuck in a style rut. I’m definitely guilty of defaulting to the same jeans and comfy tee most days. They’re practical, familiar, and honestly, they require zero thought. But I’ve also noticed that when I put in just a little more effort—even one interesting accessory or a pop of color—I feel so much better.
The point system makes it feel more like a game than a chore. A bracelet stack? That’s a point. Cute sneakers? Another point. Suddenly, you’re out of the basics zone and into something that actually feels fun and intentional.
So lately, I’ve been gently nudging myself out of autopilot. Still going for comfort, but looking for small ways to mix it up—like trying out different pants or tops, or swapping my usual choices for something with a bit more personality. Not a total overhaul, just a refresh.
